RADIO NIGHTS (DE)
(Folk, Bluegrass, Blues)
In a time full of hope for a life in freedom, in the vastness of a landscape in a once "New World", lies the cradle of a great music. In everyday rural life, European folklore and West Africa music met. This "Country" music united spirituals, Gospels, blues and folk songs, mixed rhythms and melodies, and imparted an original and at the same time home-connected identity – honest, straight and in the middle of life. With the rise of the radio in the 20s of the past century, this feeling of life spread across a whole continent and shaped the feeling of life of generations.
"Radio Nights"follow this time and their longing for a true, fulfilled life. The father-son duo takes on a musical journey to the American Dream of freedom, equality and self-determination with a current look and songs from then until today. "Radio Nights" understand their music as a tribute to the melodic beauty and original strength of traditional country music, as a declaration of love to "A Melody and the Truth". With finely tuned and purely acoustic arrangements, consisting of two-part vocals, guitar and mandolin, the program moves at the interfaces of folk, gospel, bluegrass and blues. The technical equipment, based on the original and imprecise sound of traditional country music, is reduced to the reproduction of naturalness without dispensing with modern musical achievements. The focus is on the soul of the song beyond all country and Western clichés.
